Pontiac 301 Turbo Engine This engine is usually known as a boat anchor and is typically removed as quickly as possible and junked from the 1980 and 1981 Turbo Edition Trans Ams. This one had a bit of a performance makeover including forged pistons that do not technically exist. Reconditioned factory rods with wavelok rod bolts, a custom ground crankshaft, 4340 roller tip rocker arms, a custom ground camshaft for the turbocharger, heavy duty 7/16” rocker studs, positive valve seals, a double roller timing set, an aluminum high flow water pump, performance valve seats and angles, and much more to keep this one out of the junkyard!
